Alice Jo Risk of Greeley passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 after a yearlong battle with cancer.
Alice was born August 11, 1930 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Following her adoption by George and Anna Ebrecht, she was raised in Sioux City, Iowa. She graduated from Sioux City Central High School in 1948. Alice married Ronal S. Risk in 1950 and they had three children. They later divorced.
Alice dedicated her life to her family through constant involvement in Cub Scouts, Brownies, being President of P.T.A and numerous other volunteer endeavors. Following their children’s graduation, they spent 10 years caring for and often housing pregnant women, which was her passion. The opportunity to pursue this passion led her to Greeley. Colorado.
Her deep faith in God, led many of her friends to call on her for help in prayer. Her involvement in the organization and development of “The Genesis Project” can be continued by donations to this project.
Alice is survived by two children, Mike (Renee) Risk of Plano, Texas and Renee (Kevin) Brown of Greeley and her ten beloved grandchildren and their families. She is preceded in death by her youngest son, Kevin (Cheri) Risk, who passed away October 11, 2011
Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Stoddard Funeral Home.
