

Angela lived in Kansas City, Missouri until at a young age the family moved to Chicago. She received her education in Chicago. She lost her parents at an early age. She moved to Garden City, Kansas, later moving to Pueblo and Red Wing.
Angela met David Ortega in Eaton and on March 18, 1951 they were married in Denver at the Church of God in Christ by Brother William Odom. After their marriage, they lived in Denver, then later moved to Greeley. They lived at their home for the past 56 years.
Angela volunteered as a Den mother for the Webelos and was a Navy mother. She worked as a private housekeeper for 33 years to many families in Greeley, including the McArthurs and the Todds. Most recently she was employed by Dana and Jeff Bedingfield.
She enjoyed cooking and shopping. Angela loved making tamales for her family at Christmas time.
Angela is survived by her husband, David; nine children, Willie Ortega (Denise) of Windsor, Anthony Ortega (Rosa), Albert Ortega and Ronald Ortega all of Greeley, Rosalie Ortega of Denver, Andrew Ortega, David Allen Ortega (Mona), Abigail Nickerson (Jae) and Ruth Ortega-Pacheco (Claro) all of Greeley; three sisters, Connie Sanchez (Luz) of Salida, Eva Bolden (Jan) of Palm Bay, Florida and Johnnie Grisham (Fred) of Tuscon, Arizona and a brother, Danny Diaz (Vera) of Westcliffe; 25 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two grandsons, Albert LeRoy Ortega Jr. and Levon George Griego; brother, Ernie and two sisters, Marti and Sarah.
Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, July 10, 2016 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Funeral service will be from 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2016 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
