Mrs. Wallis attended Louisiana Tech University, where she met her husband, William Bryant (Bugs) Wallis. They were married on July 17, 1970, and together they managed Wallis Sheet Metal (later Wallis Fabricating and Machine) in West Monroe, LA until her retirement in 1998.
She was an avid gardener, and rode trials motorcycles with her husband for a number of years. She enjoyed many forms of exercise, such as cycling, running, and swimming, and had a fondness for animals (especially cats). She lived in West Monroe, LA until 2013, at which time she moved to Colorado to be closer to her children.
She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2014. During her remaining years, her children enjoyed helping her live life to the fullest.
She was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by children Amy Hamilton and Michael Wallis, grandson Alex Hamilton, sister Mrs. Toni Strother, brother Mr. Bill Kendall, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America or the American Brain Foundation.
