

Bert H. Leach 87 went to be with his Lord on May 23, 2011. He was born March 29, 1924 in Girard, Kansas. He was the son of Harry and Lillian Leach. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. On November 15, 1953, he married Vivian Crank in Girard, Kansas. They lived in Hutchinson, Kansas where he worked as a welder for The Hutchinson Foundry & Steel and later retired from Wilson Machine Co. of Hutchinson. In 2009, he moved to Greeley, Colorado.
He is survived by his wife, and daughter. Marsha Stoll and husband, Wes and son, Greg and wife, Karen both of Greeley, Colorado, grandsons, David and wife, Jenna, of Greeley, grandsons, Brent Leach stationed in Japan, Jarrod Short and granddaughter, Mikayla of Greeley, and great grandchildren, Alana and Logan Stoll both of Greeley. Two sisters, Jean and husband, Frank Leikam of Ness City, a twin sister, Bertha and husband, Russell Shriver of Girard, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Ray, Edward and Jack and one sister, Ivorene Weimer.
Bert was a long time member of the South Hutchinson Christian Church, South Hutchinson, Kansas, where he served as an elder and deacon and since moving to Greeley attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Greeley, Colorado. He was a loving husband and Father and Grandfather. He loved gardening, bluegrass and loved life.
Funeral services will be held at the First Church of the Nazarene at 10:00 AM Thursday, May 26 with Bobby Howard officiating. Interment will be at Ft. Logan in Denver. Memorial can be made to First Church of the Nazarene building fund.
