

Bruce L. Carmichael, of Estes Park, Colorado passed away Friday, March 9, 2018. He was born April 28, 1947 in Wichita, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Juanita Carmichael of Wichita, Kansas. Bruce attended Southeast High School in Wichita and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Wichita State University. He was a Phi Delta Theta fraternity member. Bruce started his career at IBM in Endicott, New York. However, most of his professional life was in Healthcare Administration. He was Director of Management Engineering at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colorado. He was Vice President of Planning and Business Development and Executive Vice President at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. He was Associate Executive Director of Humana Health Plans in Chicago, Illinois. He was a Healthcare Consultant, as well as Administrator of St. Francis Medical Center West and Hawaii Medical Center in Oahu, Hawaii. Bruce’s most recent career was Administrator at Timberline Medical Center in Estes Park, Colorado. After almost nine years he retired in October of 2017. In addition to his healthcare career, Bruce and his wife, Lindi owned and operated Centennial Wine and Spirits in Louisville, Colorado. Bruce loved being involved in the Estes Park community and was active in many local organizations. One of his biggest achievements for eight years was Chairman of the Estes Park Rotary Golf Tournament raising money for the Estes Park Scholarship Fund. He enjoyed golfing, skiing, hiking, playing guitar, banjo and performing music with friends. In addition, Bruce was dedicated to his family and was looking forward to retirement where he would be able to travel with Lindi, spend time with his children and grandchildren while enjoying many of his hobbies and interests. Bruce was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Lindi Carmichael, son Zak Carmichael (Sharedi), daughters Ashley Owen (Drew) and Cristina Rody (Ryan), step daughter Mandi Barker, grandsons Gauge, Rees and Palmer, granddaughters Eva and Sienna, brother Scott Carmichael (Patty) and Mother-in-law Maxine Myrick. A Celebration of his Life will be held on his birthday Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the Presbyterian Community Church of the Rockies. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to the Scholarship Fund of the Rotary Golf Tournament.
