C. LaRue Leek, 78, of Greeley died Monday, May 20, 2013 at Northern Colorado Long Term Acute Hospital, Johnstown. He was born on September 30, 1934 in Allendale, Illinois to Thadeus J. and Pauline (Blosser) Leek.
LaRue grew up in the Indiana and Illinois area. He moved to Greeley when he was 18 years old and worked in the oil fields in Weld and Morgan Counties. He then started trucking and loved over the road trips.
LaRue enjoyed watching old movies, especially Westerns. He was a very good father and provider. He enjoyed being a foster parent. His time with his family was most important, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his son, Jeff Leek of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; two daughters, Julie and Kathy; former wife and friend, Anita Leek of Greeley; his foster children, Michael, Kayla and Shane; three grandchildren, Meagan Leek, Madison Leek and Jaxson Leek all of Broken Arrow and one great-granddaughter, Avery Walker of Broken Arrow.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bryce Leek.
Friends may visit from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Saturday at Stoddard Funeral Home. Inurnment will take place at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Mount Carmel, Illinois.
