He spent his life working in the Agricultural Field, American Breeders Service.
He served in the Army from 1966-1968 and he was a member of the 267th Signal Company. He spent time at Ft. Carson before his tour of duty in Vietnam. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, OS Bars (2), Vietnam Campaign Medal w/ 60 Device and Vietnam Service Medal. His hobbies included bowling, gardening and his trips to Black Hawk.
He is survived by his granddaughter, Alicia Swenson, Alicia’s grandmother, Linda Weitzel (Shipley), brother, Eugene Swenson Jr., numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his son, Clinton Swenson, mother, Mary Swenson (Shriner), father, Eugene Swenson, Sr., sister, Dolores Wailes, brother-in-law, Frank Wailes, sister, Margaret Duncan, brother, Gary Swenson, grandmother, Jennie Swenson, grandfather, Albert Swenson and great-great niece, Colbie Crandall.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 3400 W. 28th St., Greeley.
