Clarence Miles Killingsworth

May 6, 1938 – May 22, 2011

Clarence Miles Killingsworth, 73, of Greeley died May 22, 2011 at Hospice of Northern Colorado Inpatient Unit, Greeley. He was born May 6, 1938 on the family farm in Ash Grove, Missouri to Granville Clarence and Bessie Edna (Miles) Killingsworth. He was raised in Willard, Missouri where he graduated from High School in 1956.

Clarence entered the United States Navy on June 29, 1956 and served on board the USS Saratoga (CVA-60). He also served as the ship photographer. He was discharged on June 17, 1960. He then returned to Missouri and entered Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. He met Ruby Leah Cavin while attending College, and they later married on June 1, 1962 in Springfield, Missouri.

After graduating from College, Clarence served as a Baptist Minister in many churches through the United States. He started 3 churches and was involved with Prison Ministries and also had a radio ministry in South Dakota. He mentored many Baptist ministers through the years. Clarence has ministered in the Fort Collins/Greeley areas since 1974. He was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church in Greeley. He was a fiery old fashioned preacher.

Clarence also enjoyed fishing, and trips to Estes Park and the Mountains.

Clarence is survived by his wife Ruby; daughter Pamela Napier (David Noonan) of Ft. Collins; sons Gregory Killingsworth of Loveland and John Killingsworth of Ft. Collins; 3 grandchildren John Christopher Napier, Christina Murray, Cassandra Brooks; 3 great-grandchildren Matthew, Cassie and Sabrina Murray; sisters Patsy June Secrest (Ron) of Delaware and Martha Jane Gilbert (Edgar) of Indiana and a brother Gary J. Killingsworth (Denise ) of Missouri; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Bobby Joe Kile.

Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Stoddard Funeral Home.
