Claudia Anne Lutz passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025, in Greeley, Colorado, at the age of 86. She was born on November 4, 1939, to Esther Doney and Ralph Doney, both of whom preceded her in death.
Claudia was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ted Lutz. She is survived by her sister, Ruth Lebsack; her children, Robyn Pagel (husband Larry Pagel) and Chris Lutz; her grandchildren, Tyler Pagel, Ashley Pagel, Nico Lutz and (wife Brecken) and Caitlin Krusmark (husband Wyatt), and her great-grandchildren, Riley Pagel, Lily Pagel, Scarlett Stewart, and Abby Pagel.
Claudia spent much of her life in Colorado. She grew up in Greeley, moved to Kit Carson after marrying Ted, and later settled in Fort Morgan, where she spent the remainder of her life and created a warm, welcoming home centered on family.
In her younger years, Claudia enjoyed riding horses. She graduated from College High in 1957 and studied nursing at Mercy Hospital. Her path eventually led her to floristry, a profession perfectly suited to her creativity and love of flowers. She became an accomplished florist, proudly participating in garden shows and winning awards for her floral designs and gardening achievements.
A devoted Methodist, Claudia found great joy in her faith and in singing as part of the church choir. She was known for her kind heart, quick wit, and fierce devotion to her family. Though she never described herself as athletic, she never missed a sporting event and was always there with encouragement, unwavering support, and the very best donuts.
Claudia loved to travel, especially alongside her husband Ted. Together they enjoyed many trips to Hawaii, creating treasured memories of sunshine, laughter, and time spent side by side. Ireland also held a special place in her heart. While she never acquired a taste for Guinness, she did enjoy a sneaky whiskey and a generous glass of wine.
One fun family memory includes staying up late together watching television, especially as Claudia delighted in figuring out the answers on Wheel of Fortune. These quiet evenings of laughter and shared moments reflected the warmth, comfort, and joy she brought to everyday life.
Claudia will be remembered for her warmth, humor, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. Her presence was steady and comforting, her laughter infectious, and her devotion absolute. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
