

Clyde Leonard Williams, Jr., 89 of Greeley, passed away January 10, 2016 at Brookdale Highlands Ranch Memory Care. Clyde was born April 24, 1926 in Greeley to Clyde L. Williams Sr. and Flora Marie (Lauck) Williams. He moved to Sterling with his parents in 1940 and graduated from Sterling High School.
On May 30, 1944 he enlisted in the Navy and was in Boot Camp at Farragut, ID. He graduated from radio school and was shipped overseas on the USS Ticonderoga aircraft carrier and served in the South Pacific Theater as a radio man on a Navy patrol craft. He was honorably discharged on June 18, 1946 at Shoemaker, CA. After his discharge from the Navy he entered school at the University of Colorado and was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He graduated in 1950.
On November 9, 1952 Clyde married Betty Lou Swanson at Sterling, CO. He was a sales representative for National Old Line Insurance Company. In 1955 he moved to Greeley with his family and started in real estate sales. In 1968 he opened his own real estate office, the Star Realty Co., until 1982 when he became a district sales rep for JII/Sales and worked until he retired in 2005.
Clyde was president of the Greeley Board of Realtors in 1966, past commander of the American Legion Post #18, member of Century Lodge No. 190 A.F. and A.M., the Greeley BPOE Elks Lodge 809, a long time member of the Greeley Ambassador Committee of the Greeley Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Evans Chamber of Commerce.
Clyde was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt, play golf, and enjoyed sports of all types. He especially enjoyed cheering on the CU Buffalo’s and the Denver Broncos.
He is survived by his sons, Terry (Joyce) Williams, Stacy (Rizalina) Williams; daughter Kristi Williams; grandchildren Brian Williams, Megan and Marcus (Annette)Worthman, Rachel and Michael Williams, Troy and Todd (Allie) Heffner, Sean (Michelle) Strong; and great grandchildren Rilan and Odin Williams, Aubrey, Courtney and Ella Heffner, Tyler and Mila Strong.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; and his parents.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the Allnutt Macy Chapel with a reception to follow in the Allnutt Reception Center.
