Darlene Elizabeth Martinez

Darlene Elizabeth Martinez, 64, of Greeley, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017 at North Colorado Medical Center. Darlene was born on March 20, 1953 in Mora, New Mexico to Andres Fred and Odilia Nazarena (Zamora) Martinez.

Darlene moved to Greeley with her family when she was nine years old. She attended Greeley schools, including Greeley Central High School. On June 27, 1970, Darlene married Leroy C. Martinez at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, where they were members. Leroy passed away on January 5, 2014.

Darlene and her husband enjoyed traveling with their children. She loved to travel, especially to New Mexico. She also enjoyed dancing, making crafts and telling stories. Darlene loved to laugh and enjoyed life.

Above all was her love for her children and grandchildren.

Darlene is survived by three daughters, Arlene Barrientes (Frank), Monica Martinez (Domingo Torres) and Ava Martinez (Brandon Blea) all of Greeley; three sons, Leroy Martinez, Jr. (Nichole) of Ft. Collins and Jimmy Martinez and Joseph Martinez both of Greeley; three sisters, Theresa Salgado, Susie Martinez and Joann Cisneros (Raymond) all of Greeley; four brothers, Albert Martinez, Robert Martinez, Ricky Martinez (Maria) and Glen Martinez (Andrea) all of Greeley; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andres and Odilia, husband, Leroy and brother-in-law, Leroy Salgado, Sr.

Recitation of the Rosary will be at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Stoddard Funeral Home.
