David James Pfeifer, 47, of Brighton, passed away on August 15, 2012 at Brighton after a valiant and courageous four and a half year battle with Transverse Myelitis. David was born to LaRene and Julius Pfeifer on June 9, 1965 in Greeley.
David graduated from Greeley Central High School in 1983 and joined the Air Force in April 1984. He served four years as a telecommunication technician at the Pentagon as an Airman 1st Class. Upon completion of his service duties he continued to serve his country by joining Lockheed-Martin as an Aeronautical Engineer. He served in this capacity in California for 12 years and then moved to Colorado and served 12 more years. This position took him to many different countries in the 24 years he served.
David was a fun-loving individual until his sickness took a lot of the joy out of him but he still loved to tell stories of by-gone times. He had a gifted knack of being able to “fix” almost anything. If he didn’t know how, he researched to figure it out.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Gloria, his Mother, his Mother-in-law, Gloria Gutierrez; one brother, Doug (Laurie) of Arvada; a brother-in-law, Eduardo; one sister, Debra Pfeifer of Greeley; nieces Kristi, Kaci and Denise and nephews, Josh and Ethan; grandnephew Adam and grandniece Gabri, plus many cousins, aunts, uncles and a host of friends.
Services will be conducted at Stoddard Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2012. Burial to be conducted immediately following the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
