

Dean Sheets passed away on August 26, 2014 in Greeley, CO. He was born on February 8, 1933 in Lenora, Kansas to Loyd and Irene (Knoll) Sheets, moving to Nebraska when he was a child. Dean grew up in the Stapleton/Gandy, Nebraska area graduating from Gandy High School in 1951.
In 1956, Dean married Jean Williams. To this union, one son and two daughters were born.
Dean farmed in the Stapleton/Arnold, Nebraska area until moving to Greeley in 1973. He was a heavy equipment operator for Oliver Construction, Colorado Pipeline, Flat Iron, Kewitt and other construction companies for local #9 until his retirement in 1995. Dean and Jean also owned and operated the Wagon Wheel Liquors in Kersey for 30 years.
Dean will be sadly missed and survived by his wife, Jean; son, Allan (Veronica) Sheets; daughters, Carolyn Lewallen and Debbie (Breck) Barrington; grandchildren, Justin (Candice) Lewallen, Melissa (Jake) Colaric, Patrick Sheets, Brandon (Candy) and Trenton (Celeste) Barrington; nine great-grandchildren, one brother, Keith (Mary Alice) Sheets; one sister, Gloria Telecky; three sisters-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved dachshund, Peter B. Longdog.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Loyd and Irene, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, John and Goldie Williams, one brother, Bob and 10 brothers-in-law.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Kersey Field Center.
