

Dean grew up in the Greeley area until 1961 when he moved to Prospect Valley. He graduated from Weld Central High School in 1971, where he played football, wrestled and participated in track.
He attended St. Paul’s Congregational Church and later Zoar Congregational Church in Prospect Valley, where he was confirmed.
On January 6, 2008, he married Cyndi Kowalchuk in Greeley. Dean worked for Randall & Blake Inc. for 12 years, where he was a supervisor. He then operated his own landscaping business. He most recently worked for Encana Oil & Gas as a Measurement Coordinator.
Dean’s hobbies included fishing, golfing and four-wheeling. He dearly loved driving his 1969 Plum Crazy Purple Pontiac Firebird convertible. Dean was also very active in the American Cancer Society fundraising and walks.
Dean is survived by his wife, Cyndi of Greeley; his former wife, Debbie Dinges of Brighton; three step-sons, Chad Kowalchuk of LaKeport, Michigan, Jeremy Kowalchuck (fiancé, Jewel) of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and David Dinges (Stacey) of Brighton; his mother, Dulcie Jones of Walsenburg; his mother-in-law, Maxine Coursey of Arapahoe, Nebraska; two sisters, Laura Griffin (Stan) of Strasburg and Sandi Claeys (Bob) of Kiowa; one brother, Ed Weber (Deb) of Brighton and seven grandchildren. As well as, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father on November 7, 1998.
Visitation 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Stoddard Funeral Home. Service 10 a.m. Friday at St. Paul’s Congregational Church.
