

Debbie attended St. Anthony’s School in Sterling until the ninth grade, when she transferred to Sterling High school and graduated in 1973. She attended Northeastern Jr. College in Sterling in 1974 and graduated in 1975 with her LPN degree.
Debbie married her best friend and soul mate, Bruce C. Branath, on June 20, 2009. She was previously married to Michael G. Burgess from 1976-1995.
Debbie was employed by the Greeley Medical Clinic (PVHS) for accumulative of 31 years. She was currently an Employee Health Nurse. She had also worked at Fairacres Manor, RVNA of Greeley and the Weld County Jail.
She was active in scouts as a Cub Scout leader, Webelos leader and Boy Scout leader for Pack 50 of La Salle. She served as a member of SASSI (Sexual Assault Survivors). She was a member of Waypoints Faith Community. She was also a volunteer with Tower 21.
Debbie’s children and grandchildren were her life. She enjoyed time with her family and friends. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life such as reading, BBQs, trips to the mountains and playing games with her family and husband. She was a firm believer in practicing random acts of kindness. She was of a very generous and giving heart. She had a strong faith, which was very important to her and strong walk with God our Father.
She is survived by her husband, Bruce Branath of La Salle; sons, Danny Burgess and Chris Burgess and wife Katrice all of Evans; step-son, David Branath of Denver and step-daughter, Cassie Martinez and husband Justin of Federal Heights; grandsons, Malachi and Johnathan Burgess of Evans and step-granddaughters Sadie and Milla Martinez of Federal Heights; mother-in-law, Lillian Bobb of New York; father-in-law, Herman Branath and wife Marilyn of Utah; brother, Butch Graves and wife Tammy of Sterling; sister, Kathy Hurst of Sterling; niece and nephew, Erin and Nathan Graves both of Fort Collins and niece, Stephanie Scott of Michigan; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Nancy Branath, niece, Kait Branath and nephews, Dan and Brian Branath and brother-in-law, John Branath all of New York; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Doug and Marie Burgess; niece, Amber Santiago and husband Eddie and family; niece, Willow Pulvermacher and husband Brian all of Wisconsin and nephew Rick Burgess and wife, Kathy and family of Indiana. Debbie is also survived by her best friend, Pam Welch and by Buster, her faithful little dog.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Celebration of Life 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at First Assembly of God.
