

Donald was reared and educated in Tribune, where his family had a farm. After graduation from high school, Donald was a dry land farmer near Tribune.
On November 22, 1945, he married Lela Fern Neyer at her parents’ home in Leota, Kansas. They were members of the First United Methodist Church in Greeley.
Donald and his wife moved to La Junta and bought a farm. He later moved his family to Ault and brought the Prince Theater. He also worked at Weller Lumber Company in Ault. The family moved to Greeley in 1955, where he worked for Weller Lumber Company, later becoming Murphy Lumber Company. He retired as manager of Murphy Lumber Company in 1988, after 30 years.
Donald enjoyed helping his family with building projects. He and his wife enjoyed trips to Las Vegas and Black Hawk. Above all was time with his family.
Donald is survived by his wife, Lela of Greeley; one daughter, Rhonda S. (Roland) Cruz of La Salle; three sons, Terry R. (Joy) Moore, Larry D. (Diane) Moore and Rick (Kathy) Moore all of Greeley; 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four sisters.
