Dorothy Marguerite (Jasper) Pasqua, of Greeley Colorado, passed on to eternal life at age 93 on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Greeley Village in Greeley, CO. She was surrounded by many members of her loving family.
Dorothy was born in Cawker City, KS on January 29, 1932, to Leo and Cecilia (Konzem) Jasper. She was born at home on the family farm and was the second of eight children.
Dorothy (Dottie) graduated from Cawker City High School in 1950. After moving to Denver, she continued her education at Parks School of Business. She applied the skills she acquired here, along with her natural work ethic and intellect, to positions in the Secretarial pool at Great Western Sugar Company and at Colorado Federal Savings. After leaving these positions, she put her work ethic toward taking care of those around her, including her five children, her husband, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and any member of the community who could use a hand. Her dedication to and love for others was never at rest.
Dottie married Joseph Gabriel Pasqua on August 14, 1954, at St. James Catholic Church in Denver, Colorado. She and Joe raised their five children, Kathleen (David) Talkington, Christopher (Melinda) Johnson-Pasqua, Kevin (Jill), David (Paula), and Ann (Bryce) Wilson, on Kearney Street in Park Hill, Denver. Later, they were blessed with 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. To her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, Dottie gave her generous spirit and sense of humor, as well as many physical labors of love. She was a talented seamstress, making clothes for her family, furnishings for their home, and earning some side money doing alterations and sewing for others. She even made draperies to keep her family afloat when Joe’s job at Frontier Airlines was at risk, due to the loss of his sight in 1961.
Dottie was deeply silly, understanding, and kind. She found meaning in her life through loved ones and her many cherished pastimes. She loved to travel, knit, play cards, read, bake, cook, and can. She made a Raggedy Ann or Andy doll for each grandchild and great-grandchild and traveled whenever possible to show up at important moments for her family. She and Joe were also longtime members at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Parish in Denver. There, she was involved in choir, Altar and Rosary Society, making meals for the Seton House, and anything else that a friend or neighbor needed help with.
Remaining to cherish Dottie’s (aka Granny) memory are her children and spouses, Kathleen (David) Talkington, Chris (Melinda) Johnson-Pasqua, Kevin (Jill) Pasqua, David (Paula) Pasqua, Ann (Bryce) Wilson; grandchildren, Rachel, Ember, Amy, Brian, Casey, Michael, Grace, Elayna, Darryn, Keenan, Violet, Natasha, Vincent, Zane, Eric, Lee, and Elise; great-grandchildren, Emiliana, Genessa, Lorrissa, Marco, Cenzia, Gideon, Galen, Gabe, Nova, Florence, Melody, Anastasiya, Valerik; brother, Charles Jasper; sisters, Marilyn O’Connor and Loretta Jasper.
Preceding Dottie in death is her husband Joseph, grandchild Holly, parents, Leo & Cecilia Jasper; brothers, Herman and Eugene Jasper; sisters, Marcena Wall and Leona Flavin.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 19th at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, Windsor, CO with a Rosary at 10:30 am and Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. A reception will follow in the parish hall. Interment will be in Ft. Logan Cemetery at a later date.
