Dorothy was a member of Sunnyview in Greeley and then the First Church of the Nazarene and also during her winter months living in Sun City, Arizona to be closer to her grandsons, she was a member of Sun City of the Nazarene for 17 years. She served on the Board of Directors at Sunnyview and at the First Church of the Nazarene in Greeley and in Sun City. She also volunteered at Golden Bell Church Camp. Dorothy and Howard also volunteered as Wranglers at the Greeley Stampede.
Dorothy opened her home and heart to people in need, such as missionaries and single mothers who were in need. Her home was so inviting, especially during the holidays. She was a very loving and caring mother and grandmother. Her family enjoyed eating her homemade meals on her dining table which was properly set every Sunday with her best china and crystal. She spent her weekends with her grandsons, taking camping trips and working in her flower garden.
