

Dorothy Faulkner Wallace died on October 25, 2016 at her home in Estes Park. Dorothy Lynn Whowell was born in Johnstown, Colorado May 9, 1924 to Harry Owen Whowell and Ruth T. (Foley) Whowell. On June 5, 1947 Dotty married Earl J. Faulkner in Denver, Colorado. She earned a Bachelor’s degree from University of Denver then her Masters in speech pathology from University of Northern Colorado. Dorothy worked as a speech pathologist in the elementary and junior high schools in Greeley retiring in 1984. Having spent many summers in at a family cabin in Estes Park, Dotty and Earl moved to Estes permanently in August 1984. Earl passed away in January of 1991 and Dotty was remarried in June of 1995 to Lew Wallace. She was a member of the Presbyterian Community Church of the Rockies, serving as a deacon, P.E.O., a Delta Zeta Sorority member, an honorary Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority member, an Outstanding Educator of America and in the Who’s Who of Colorado. She is survived by her daughter Lisa Shultz of Overland Park, Kansas and her son David Faulkner of Colorado Springs and four grandchildren; Sarah, Stephen, Tim and Jill. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands and a sister. A memorial service will be held on Friday November 18, 2016 at the Presbyterian Community Church of the Rockies at 2:00 PM.
