

Duane grew up in the Kersey area and graduated from Platte Valley High School in 1969. He then attended Aims College, graduating with a degree in auto mechanics.
On September 9, 1972 he married Elois Lynn Wrighton at Bethel Lutheran Church in Windsor. Duane was a longtime supporter of Katie & Sean Memorial Rodeo Bible Camp and of many other rodeo ministries. He was a member of Resurrection Fellowship in Loveland. He was also a Gideon. Duane served as a deacon at Kersey Community Church. He was on the Accountability Committee at Platte Valley High School and was a past president of Northern Front Range Fellowship of Christian Cowboys Chapter.
Duane loved working on forklifts and watching John Wayne movies.
He had a big heart and was always willing to help people in need. Above all was his love of family, especially his grandchildren.
Duane is survived by his wife, Elois; a daughter, Tami Tovar (Raul Tovar-Garcia) of La Salle; a son, Matthew Oster (Lara Kruse) of Fort Lupton; two sisters, Cindy Oster and Sandy Oster both of Greeley and seven grandchildren, Amber Lehmann, Aaron Tovar, Hailey Oster, Isaac Tovar, Jessa Oster, Eli Wrighton-Tovar and Levi Wrighton-Tovar.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Evelyn Oster, three brothers, David, Jay and Garen and one grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Celebration of Life will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2014 at Resurrection Fellowship, Loveland.

Duane worked for Monfort of Colorado from 1970-1988. He then worked at D F & I Pallet Company (later D & E Pallet Company), when he bought the business from his family. In 1992, he started Oster Forklift and worked up to his death.
