Edna was raised in Central California and graduated from Santa Ynez High School. She later attended California Polytechnic State University and Santa Barbara City College. Edna was an artist who loved to teach others how to paint and quilting as well. She enjoyed wildlife, camping, long mountain drives and nature. She especially loved the ocean and the mountains.
Edna married her husband, Marvin Almond, on December 19, 1959 in California. They had three children together and Edna spent most of her time taking care of and loving them. As a family, they moved around for new adventures to places including Kansas and Nebraska, until they decided to stay in Colorado. Edna and Marvin both went to Holy Comforter Episcopal Church.
No matter where Edna was, she made friends. She was a learner throughout life, but found great joy in teaching others art. She also loved to go to different stores and shop. Edna was very independent and self-determined. Toward the end of her life, she relied on pictures of her favorite things to always remember their beauty. Later on in life Edna’s greatest joy was family gatherings.
Edna is survived by her son, Richard (Denise) Almond; her daughters, Chris (Robert) Tomlinson and Cheryl (Dustin) Almond; brothers, Leonard (Ruth) Kelsey and Frank (Kathy) Kelsey; four beloved grandchildren, adopted wildlife kids; and six great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Marvin.
Edna will be inurned at Holy Comforter Episcopal Church in Broomfield, Colorado at a later date.
