Elfrieda passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 in the presence of her children and pastors.
Elfrieda was born September 19, 1924 in Poole, Nebraska to William Gruhn and Helen Schipman. She was married to Donald William on June 13, 1954. She lived in Greeley, Colorado from March 1960 until the present. Elfrieda was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church since she moved to Greeley in 1960. She was also active with Trinity Guild, LWML, and the church choir. She was accomplished in needlework, baking, gardening and was an excellent seamstress and pianist.
Elfrieda is survived by her daughter, Ruth (Wayne) Evans; son, Mark (Kathy) Schlager; grandson, Matthew, and her 12 nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald William; her parents; and her siblings, George, Willie, Bert, Edna, Agnes, Elsie, Walter, and Carl.
A Funeral Service for Elfrieda will take place on Monday, August 8, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3000 35th Ave, Greeley, CO 80634. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Her family wants to thank her church family and Pastor Kent and Pastor Hesse for their prayers and support. Also the staff at Garden Square Westlake for their love and care.
