Estella grew up in Loveland, graduating from Loveland High School in 1966. She married Jose “Cornie” Gonzales in Loveland in May 1966, they later divorced.
She worked for the Weld County Health Department, for an attorney, Planned Parenthood, Weld County Sheriff’s Office and the Weld County Courthouse, where she was a clerk for the 19th Judicial District, retiring after 30 years. She then worked part-time for Life Care and Goodfellas Bail Bond Co.
Estella was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. She was a fan of the Denver Broncos and the Colorado Rockies. She enjoyed traveling, gambling, and was a workaholic. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was an amazing mother and “Grandmama”. She always attended her grandchildren’s sporting events and their activities. Estella loved to take care of her family. She enjoyed cooking and baking for them.
Estella is survived by her daughters, Christina Stoltz (Todd) of Greeley and Cynthia L. Gonzales (Paul Paiz) of Evans; sisters, Marcella Ochoa of Loveland, Mary Alarid of Cheyenne, Wyoming and Dorothy Sedillo (Herman) of Loveland; brother, Henry Hernandez, Jr. (Maxine) of Greeley; five grandchildren, Krystel Stoltz of Milliken, Jessica Stoltz (Tommy Salinas) of Greeley, James Gonzales (Shareen Vigil) of Evans, Alyssa Sanchez (Jameel Moore) of Evans and Todd J. Stoltz (Kait Graham) of Greeley; great-grandchildren, William, Nevaeh, Aden, Kennedy, Danielle, Myla, Princeton and a great-grandchild expected in January and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Janny and Ruby and brothers, Tony, David, Cruz, Pete and Jerry.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2019 followed by Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. both at Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 West 28th Street, Greeley. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2019 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 915 12th Street, Greeley. Interment Linn Grove Cemetery.
