

Esther Baker Weimer, 98, of Greeley, Colorado, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Garden Square at Westlake. She was born, the oldest of six children, on July 19, 1917 to Henry Frank and Pauline (Achziger) Rady in Greeley.
Esther was raised on the family farm where she worked in the home and in the fields with her parents and brothers. On September 14, 1945 she married Chauncey Baker at St. Paul’s Congregational Church. He died in 1982. On March 9, 1988 she married Edward Weimer. At 95 she and Ed moved from their home in Greeley to Garden Square at Westlake.
Esther spent most of her married life caring for her home and family. After her son was older she worked for the District food service at Chappelow Elementary. Esther loved her God, her family and her German heritage. She enjoyed eating at JB’s, playing cards, crafts, fishing, baking, spending time at the Evans Senior Center where she volunteered and sharing her memories of growing up on the farm, especially with those who assisted with her care at Garden Square and the Hospice team.
Esther was preceded in death by her parents; infant siblings, Ferdinand and Helen; her husbands, Chauncey and Edward and her brother Edward Rady. She is survived by brothers Herman (Freda) Rady of Greeley and Leroy (Marge) Rady of Drake; sister-in-law Edna Rady of Greeley; son Ron (Marsha) Baker of Greeley; grandchildren Kirby and David Moore and Wendy and Wes Fothergill; great-grandchildren Kolby and Colton Moore and Daykin Fothergill and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 19, 2016 followed by Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m. both at St. Paul’s Congregational Church. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
