Faye, the daughter of Pearl (Burt) and Wm. B. Irwin, was born January 1, 1920, in Genoa, Nebraska and spent her growing up years in Genoa and Fullerton, Nebraska. While attending the University of Nebraska, she met Clinton C. Jurgensen. They were married on December 21, 1941 and Faye graduated soon afterward. Clint was drafted and World War II dictated their early home towns.
The Jurgensens lived in Genoa, Nebraska and Julesburg and Hudson, Colorado, before moving to the Greeley area in 1968. Several years were spent in Eaton where Faye was the secretary for Clint’s Jurgensen Realty business. In previous years she had been the Superintendent’ s secretary at Weld Central schools and worked for the Colorado Highway Department in Greeley.
Following their retirements, Faye and Clint became avid travelers, always with their golf clubs in the car. They enjoyed numerous Elderhostels and visiting their children and grandchildren to attend sporting events and special occasions. Faye spent time enjoying the activities of Embroiderers Guild. Family members and friends were the beneficiaries of many stitchery and quilting projects. When she became unable to play herself, her TV was frequently tuned to a golf match. Faye was also a fifty year member of P.E.O. Faye and Clint were active members of the First United Presbyterian Church.
Faye was preceded in death by Clint on August 17, 2005, two older sisters, and a daughter-in-law, Gail (Briscoe) Jurgensen.
Surviving are children, Christine ( Steve) Tubbs of Delmar, IA, Cay Jurgensen of Colorado Springs, and Bill Jurgensen of Casper, WY. Chicago, IL; Brent Jurgensen , Casper; Chris Spitzer, Anaheim, CA; Jenny Jurgensen, Muskegon, MI; Keith Spitzer, La Crescenta, CA; and Molly Jurgensen, Casper; and 13 great-grandchildren.
