

Harold Ray Montgomery, 91, of Greeley, passed away Monday, October 6, 2014 at Hospice of Northern Colorado. Harold was born on April 2, 1923 in Deer Trail, Colorado to Theodore Alexander and Glady Opal Marie (Teten) Montgomery.
Harold was raised in Agate, Colorado. He grew up with a brother and a sister. He graduated from Agate High School and joined the United States Army Air Corps. On January 24, 1948, he married Anna Louise Dugan in Deer Trail.
Harold worked for Union Pacific Railroad until his first retirement. He then went to work in civil service jobs until his second retirement. He began working for North Colorado Medical Center prior to his final retirement.
Harold was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Deer Trail and St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greeley. He belonged to a square dancing club and grange club in Deer Trail.
In 1966, his family moved to Greeley after the flooding in Deer Trail.
Harold loved fishing, traveling, crafting with wood, spending time with his family, watching golf and listening to recorded books on religion and history. He took great pride in providing for his family.
Harold is survived by two daughter, Dotty (John) Johnson and Virginia Lee “Ginger” (Dave) Becker; two sons, Billy Ray (Leona Kay) Montgomery and Steven Alan (Susan) Montgomery; brother, Ted Montgomery; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Anna and one sister.
Visitation will be from 4:00-5:00 p.m. Monday, October 13, 2014 followed by Recitation of the Rosary at 5:00 p.m. both at Stoddard Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
