

Mr. Johnson was born in Cumberland, Oklahoma to Joseph Jackson Johnson and Nancy Harriet Johnson on January 22, 1920. He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Aylsworth, OK High School. He joined the Army Air Force and served in the China Burma India Theater during WWII, until the end of the war, and served 30 years in the Air Force Reserve. Following the war he attended and graduated from the Will Rogers Institute in Fort Worth, Texas. He married Yvonne Adele Long December 31, 1942 at Pendleton Field, Oregon. They lived in Forth Worth where he was cabinet foreman for Curtis Mathes Furniture Factory. The family moved to Loveland in 1950. He then operated Johnson’s Cabinet Shop. He became a clerk-carrier in the Loveland Post Office and later a rural mail carrier in the Berthoud Post Office. He retired after 28 years in the postal service.
He was a scout master for Lion’s Club Troop 6. He was a member of the First Congregational Church and the VFW.
Mr. Johnson is survived by sons, Dan Johnson (Mary) of Bessemer, AL, Tim Johnson (Gail) of Epsom, NH; daughters, Pat Wood (Jessie) of Everett, WA and Diane Baese (Larry) of Muskego, WI.; Grandchildren, Anthony Johnson, James Johnson, Damon Bird, Wendy Bird, Danielle Elliott, and Heather Wood; great grandchildren, Karl Johnson, Christie and Steven Getchell, Audrey and Ayden Bird, Austin, Charlie, and Hannah Mayberry, Skye Elliott, and Colin & Bryce Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne in 2005, his mother and father, four brothers, and eleven sisters.

A Funeral Service will be held at Noon, Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Allnutt Funeral Service in Loveland, CO, followed by burial at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Ft. Collins, CO.
