Inocencio “Guero” Trevino of Rio Bravo, Texas died November 15, 2011 in Laredo, Texas. He was born on March 25, 1931 to Agapito and Maria (Juarez) Trevino in San Marcos, Texas. He moved his family to Greeley, Colorado in 1965, where he worked as an agricultural contractor. He then moved back to Laredo, Texas in 1989.
Guero was a very humble man that always got his way. His words were the law of the house. He was a very hard working man who enjoyed farming, being outdoors, the WWF and playing poker. His family was the most important thing to him and the most valuable lesson he taught was that “Diosito es Bueno.” He never asked anyone for anything, but he was a very generous man who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.
Through his hard work, compassion and integrity, he blessed all those around him. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Guadalupe; 7 daughters, Catarina Dominguez of Greeley, Eve Martin (Larry) of Alabama, Rosa Maria Trevino of Greeley, Mary Lou Elias, Griselda Belo (John) all of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Juanita Elias of Greeley and Elida Flor Trevino of Houston, Texas; 8 sons, Benito Trevino (Joyce), Inocencio Trevino Jr. (Alice) all of Greeley, Nick Trevino (Norma) of Alabama, Juan Flores of Greeley, Jesus Elias of Commerce City, Arturo Elias (Norma), Jorge Trevino and Juan Trevino all of Laredo, Texas; 2 sisters, Florinda Trevino of San Marcos, Texas and Susie Rodriguez of Lubbock, Texas; a brother, Benny Trevino (Josie) of Commerce City; numerous grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Maria Flores Trevino, 2 daughters, Virginia Maynez and Marjorie Flores, 3 sons, Jimmy Trevino, Julian Trevino and Jose Trevino, a sister Virginia Trevino, 3 brothers, David Trevino, Gumencindo Trevino, and Domingo Trevino.
Visitation 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Stoddard Funeral Home. Recitation of the Rosary 7 p.m. Tuesday at Stoddard Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Interment Linn Grove Cemetery.
