Jeanette attended Remsen High School in Remsen, Iowa, and St. Joseph Mercy College of Nursing, in Sioux City, Iowa. Jeanette moved to Greeley, Colorado, and began her career at the Weld County General Hospital, then moved to State Farm Insurance Company as an Occupational Health Nurse. She was a member of the Colorado Association of Occupational Health Nurses, the Longs Peak Association of Nursing and she was the Vice President of the Weld County Chapter of the Red Cross and was President of the Weld County Society for Crippled Children.
Jeanette is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Reed, son, Bret Howcroft, brother, Donald Hagert, and daughter in law, Patty Howcroft, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her son, Jack Howcroft, her parents, Joseph and Anna Hagert, brothers, Harold Hagert, Gerald Hagert and Virgil Hagert, sisters, Rita Morehead and Virgina Cambier, and her aunt, Clara Gossling, who raised her.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 31, 2020 at 10:00 am at Allnutt Macy Chapel. Private inurnment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, in Greeley, Colorado, or Pathways Hospice.
