

Joyce Elaine Cherry, 74, of Denver, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood. She was born on March 12, 1942 in Greeley to Roland J. and Emma A. (Werschke) Croissant.
Joyce was raised in Hardin, Colorado. She attended Kersey schools, UNC for one year and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1964 from Baptist Bible College.
In June of 1964 she married the love of her life, Ron Cherry in Greeley.
Joyce was first and foremost a wife and mother. As a profession, she loved teaching at Temple Baptist Academy of 13 years. She retired as an administrative assistant from the City and County of Denver.
Joyce loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also loved reading, gardening, taking walks, quilting, scrapbooking and traveling with her husband.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Ron Cherry of Denver; children, Alisa (Steve) Wilcox of Greeley, Russel Cherry of Tombstone, Arizona, Mike (Karen) Cherry of Naperville, Illinois and Amy Cherry of Greeley; brother, Jerry (Ann) Croissant of Glendora, California; eight grandchildren, Nate (Melanie), Tyler (Sarah) and Haley Wilcox, Ashleigh and Sydney Cherry and Emma, Megan and Eli Cherry and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 6, 2017 at Linn Grove Cemetery. Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Journey Christian Church, 4754 West 31st Street, Greeley, Colorado 80634.
