Juan Alberto “John John” Medina Jr., 36, of Evans, died February 20, 2010 in Evans, Colorado.
He was born July 7, 1973 in Greeley, Colorado to Juan Alberto Sr. and Mary Alice (Lujan) Medina. He recently moved to Evans. Juan grew up in Denver where he attended schools.
After his education, he started working as a mechanic. He worked for Mr. Transmission in Carbondale for 6 years. He learned auto mechanics from helping his dad at an early age. At the time of his death Juan was working to restore a 1982 Oldsmobile Cutlass which he named “Samantha”. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to tease his family and friends. At an early age he was nicknamed “John John”, but he was also known as “Chocolate” to his very close friends. He enjoyed singing, and was raised in the Catholic faith. Above all he loved his family and he touched many lives and was loved by many.
He is survived by his parents Mary A. and Juan A. Sr.; fiancé Lori Vigil of Greeley; sisters Teresa (Antonio) Lujan of Evans, Hope Medina of Evans, Stacy Medina (Rufino Hernandez) of Denver, Elyse Medina (Alex Trujillo) of Evans, Yvonne (Adolfo Jr.) Munoz of Greeley, Elizabeth Mitchell (Ernest) of Lochbuie; brother Gregg Medina of Evans; 6 Nieces and 6 Nephews and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by an infant sister Melissa.
Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m., Friday followed by Memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peters Catholic
