Larry Thomas Hartshorn, 65, of Fort Collins, Colorado, passed away peacefully, Thursday, December 30, 2021. He was born June 7, 1956 in Utica, New York to Vernor Thomas and Sybil Arlene (Whiteman) Hartshorn.
Larry spent his childhood in Bouckville, New York. His family brought him to Windsor, Colorado in July 1971. There he met his wife Rose Marie Ziel, and they married in 1975, welcoming their son Jeremy (1976) and two daughters, Amy (1978) and Michéle (1991).
He was an excellent dairy farmer for 25 years north of Windsor in the 1980s and 1990s. After his agriculture career, being a jack of all trades, he utilized his well developed skills to provide household handyman services and fed his love of writing, working for Thunder Roads Magazine, all while working and maintaining a local golf course.
His love of Harley Davidsons and photography were lifelong passions. He spent many years as a member of The Greeley HOG chapter. Being able to share his love in words and photos with friends and family always meant so much to him. His infectious smile warmed any day and whether you wanted to hear it or not, he always had the perfect "two cents” for any occasion, always making life humorous and silly.
Larry is survived by his daughters, Amy Fiedler (Mathew Lopezi) and Michéle Hartshorn; sisters, Edie Rowsey (Rob) and Patty Shahan (Tom Mannon); brother, Roger Hartshorn (Teresa) and four granddaughters, Sophia and Juliette Fiedler & Lilian and Rae Lynn Wright.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jeremy in 1994 and his parents, Tom and Sybil Hartshorn.
Services are being held at Poudre Learning Center, 8313 West F Street, Greeley, CO 80631.
