Larry’s presence brought joy and positivity to all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. From a young age, Larry displayed a keen interest in mechanics. He obtained his GED then continued his studies to complete his Certification as a Certified Auto Mechanic.
Larry was a compassionate and generous individual, always willing to lend a helping hand or offer support to those in need. His warm smile, infectious laughter, and genuine interest in others made him a beloved friend to many.
In his spare time, Larry was an avid Raiders fan. He cherished the natural beauty of Colorado and often found solace in parks. He was a dog lover. His dogs were his life. You would rarely see him without one of his little friends. He would frequent the Humane Society and rescue a friend out of “doggie jail,” as he would call it and give them forever homes.
Larry Maes will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends. He is survived by his daughter Nina (Selso) Trevino, Greeley, sisters Mary (Joseph) Penaflor, Iowa, Delores Ramirez, Greeley, brother, Rudy Maes, Greeley, sons Anthony Flores and Gabriel Gonzales. Grandchildren Andrew “Boo” Alirez, Zander Alirez, Mikai Alirez and Gianna Alirez. He will also be missed by his friend of 17 years and partner Carolyn Maes.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, August 6th at 2pm at Twin Rivers Park, 1501 65th Ave Greeley Co, 80634.
