Larry was raised in Kersey, where he attended K-12. After high school, Larry lived and worked in construction in McAllen, Texas for a short time, before returning to the Kersey area. He was employed by P&A Turkey Farms for several years. It was during this time that he married Sarah Cross and to this union his son Rory was born. He later returned to the construction trade where he worked primarily as a finish framer all across the Front Range. In construction he has worked as a carpenter, framer, general remodeler and doing residential additions.
Larry loved fishing and hunting. He tied fishing flies and reloaded hunting ammunition. When he was not working or enjoying the outdoors, he spent his time helping family and friends. Larry worked as a carpenter but everyone who knew him will tell you he was a professional fisherman. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Larry is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Rory and Sarah Scott of Greeley; two sisters, Julie Rogers of Potter, Nebraska and Jamie Scott of Canon City, Colorado; a brother and sister-in-law, Tim & Cindy Scott of Kersey; an uncle, Walter Scott of Salinas, California; a niece, Mindy Scott; three nephews, Eric Scott and Nathan and Sean Rogers and too many friends to mention in this article.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Scott, his mother, Shirley Scott, his brother-in-law, Mike Rogers, his grandmother, Lela Lee and his grandfather, Jim Lee.
