Leona I. Stevens, 87 of Greeley, passed away at Hospice of Northern Colorado on September 25, 2014. She was born April 8, 1927 in Yuma, CO, to Lewis Leonard and Florence Mae (LaDuke) Robinson. She married Delbert L. Stevens on August 9, 1947.

Leona graduated from Yuma High School. She taught school on a War Emergency Certification.

Leona was a homemaker and an artist. Her paintings were shown in various places throughout Greeley. She enjoyed cooking, baking and crocheting.

Leona was a member of First Christian Church in Greeley and participated in their Women’s Group.

She is survived by her husband Delbert L. Stevens; grandchildren, Heather (Cross) Weickum, Molly (Brown) Bredehoft, and Katy (Brown) Strasser; great-grandchildren, Caroline and Benjamin Bredehoft, and Dakota, Kyla and Hallie Strasser.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughters, Virginia Lea Cross and Teresa Lou Brown.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at the First Christian Church of Greeley. Inurnment to be held in Yuma at a later date.
