Lois Virginia Holm, 91, of Greeley, passed away at Kenton Manor on March 22, 2014. She was born April 30, 1922 in Bellevue, IA to Henry and Belle (Tietjen) Giesemann. She married Rev. Lewis Miller Holm in 1942 in Dubuque, IA. Lew passed in 2002.
Lois was the Assistant to the Dean at Franklin University Law School in Columbus, OH, Registrar at Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, IA, and Co-founder of S.H.A.R.E. in Estes Park, CO.
Lois loved to write. She had a column, “Dear Aunt Lois”, that was dedicated to answering children’s questions and concerns, wrote children’s stories for Hand in Hand Magazine, as well as newspaper articles and newsletters.
She loved music, art and was a friend to everyone.
Lois is survived by her children: Daniel Holm, Val Sawvel, Timothy Holm, Peter Holm and Michael Holm; grandchildren: Alison, Audrey, Laura, Erin, Martin, Gennai, Rose, Adam, Amy, Troy, Alexander and Morgan; great-grandchildren: Madeline, Robert, Grant, Carter, Ava, Alex, Katie, Jaedan and Gavin.
She was preceded by her parents Belle and Henry Giesemann; husband Rev. Lewis M. Holm; her oldest son, David J. Holm; brothers, Calvin and Dale; and sisters Arlys and Corinne.
