

Lucy S. Rodriguez, 89, of Greeley died peacefully on November 23, 2013 at Hospice Care of Northern Colorado surrounded by her loving family. Lucy S. Rodriguez was born in Sonora, Texas to David & Josephine (Serda) Ramos. She attended schools in Sonora. She married John S. Rodriguez on August 7, 1948 in Milliken. He passed away on September 17, 1988, after 40 years of marriage. They resided in Wichita Falls, Texas until 1971. Lucy worked for Young’s American Cleaners for 20 years, Sheppard AFB for 6 years & the Weld County Hospital.
She was a member of Trinity Spanish Assembly of God church and was an active member in their Women’s Group and often would attend the church’s Youth Group services. She enjoyed singing, music, spending time with her grandchildren & cooking. She was known for her tamales & tortillas. Her family described her as hardworking, respectful to her parents, giving & helpful to those in need. She loved the Lord with all her heart and rarely missed a church gathering. She will be greatly missed by those who knew & loved her.
Thank you Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma for your passion for life, singing, love of the Lord and the care you had for all of us. May we follow your example and continue the great legacy of servant hood that flows within the Ramos family blood.
Survivors: Two sons: Elias “Eli” (Norma) Rodriguez of Greeley & Adam (Linda) Rodriguez of Anaheim, California; two daughters Ruth Guevara of Rio Rancho, New Mexico & Rebecca “Becky” (Espiridion) Prieto of Greeley; two brothers Danny (Dora) Ramos of Grand Prairie, Texas & John (Lorraine) Martinez of San Jose, California; three sisters Ruth Villegas of Greeley, Esther Romo of Moreno Valley, California and Arlene (Dale) Garcia of Farmington, New Mexico, Nine grandchildren & Eleven Great-Grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: Her husband; her parents; a daughter Naomi Lidia Rodriguez; her sisters Epimenia Trujillo, Flora Villanueva, Anita Torres and Frances Villegas; her brothers Manuel Ramos, Daniel Ramos, Moses Ramos: numerous nieces and nephews & a grandson Israel David Guevara.
Services: A Celebration of her life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday at Trinity Spanish Assembly of God. Funeral service will be Saturday, 10:00 a.m. at New Hope Christian Fellowship Church. Interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
