

Margaret Harris, 92, of Evans, formerly of Gill, died Monday, December 22, 2014 at Hospice of Northern Colorado Inpatient Unit. Margaret was born on May 31, 1922 in Gill, Colorado to Clyde Edward and Carrie LaRue (French) Fuqua.
She was reared and educated at Cornish finishing the 8th grade. When she was 50 years old she completed her GED.
On August 19, 1940 she married Fred W. Harris in Parker, Colorado. He died September 6, 1992.
Margaret lived in Gill from 1940 until 2014 when she moved to Evans. Margaret was a member of First United Methodist Church, Greeley. Her Grandfather Darwin French was a founding member of the church. Her Great Grandfather Daniel Strohl was a one of the founding member who helped with the development of the water rights for Greeley and Weld County.
Margaret worked in the lunch room at Gill Elementary and later was a teacher’s aide at Platte Valley Elementary. She volunteered as a Cub Scout Den Leader and 4-H Leader and also sold insurance.
Margaret is survived by daughter, Lois Deubach of Evans; two sons, David Harris (Judy) of Gill and Floyd Harris (Charlotte) of Greeley; sister, Betty Weidenkeller of Greeley; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her great-granddaughter, Mickaily Deubach, an infant sister, Thelma Ruth, sister, Darwina Waller and a brother, Paul Fuqua.
Visitation will be from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 29, 2014 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
