

On July 28, 2014 Marilyn Hovis went home to be with the Lord. Born on October 2, 1934 Marilyn spent her 79 years of life enriching the lives of those she met. Marilyn’s love for people, especially children, allowed her to live a social life, constantly surrounded by those she loved and those who loved her. Marilyn was born and lived in Columbus, Ohio for 70 years before moving to Fort Collins, Colorado to live closer to family. Preceding her in death are her husband Ed Hovis; parents Wendell and Ellen Reed; and sisters Flora Lind and Catherine Pitchford. Marilyn is survived by her daughter Rene’ (Jon) McCormick, and step-daughter Con Dios Hovis; Granddaughters Kelly (Kyle) Smith and Karen (Ryan) Hover; step- grandchildren Eric Edwards and Abby Gomez. Marilyn also has 3 great-grandchildren who were the light of her life, Savannah, Lily, and Levi Smith.
A memorial service will be held at Fort Collins Good Samaritan Village on Saturday, August 9th at 1:00 pm. A celebration of life reception will follow. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Good Samaritan Society, in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 650 W. Drake Road, Fort Collins, Colorado 80526 .
A funeral service in Columbus, Ohio will be held Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Chapel. Interment will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
