Mary graduated from Ong High School and then received her Bachelor’s degree in English. She taught at Grand Island High School for two years. She then owned a business, “Lots of Knott by Mary”. She then started “Higgins Hardware” for 37 years.
On December 17, 1961 she married Rolland Higgins in Ong.
Mary enjoyed reading and writing poetry. She liked to listen to music. She was very good at remembering to send birthday cards. She was giving and caring to those she loved.
Mary is survived by her husband, Rolland “Rollie” Higgins, daughter, Kris Ayers (Chris Schroeder); son, Michael “Mike” Higgins (Norka Camacho Perez); brother, Dale Mosley; grandchild, Rachel Higgins Camacho.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Betty.
