Mary Louise Miller, 84, of Greeley, died March 15, 2012 at Life Care Center of Greeley. She was born August 27, 1927 in Greeley to Fred and Elizabeth (Wilson) Keen. She married Carl William Miller on March 12, 1948. He died September 17, 1977. She married Paul Sorensen August 26, 1985 in Fort Collins.
Mary was raised and educated in Milliken. She rebuilt automobile generators in Colorado Springs during WWII while Carl was overseas. When Carl returned from the war, they lived in Colorado Springs. They later moved to Haxton and finally settled in Greeley in 1953. She worked as a meat wrapper in many grocery stores in Greeley including Miller’s, Brannan’s, and Del Farm until she retired in 1989. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Pioneer Post 2121, V.F.W. She loved fishing, bowling, counted cross-stitch, dancing, and also enjoyed their gardens. She loved the time spent with her family.
Mary is survived by her husband Paul Sorensen; daughter Gayle Long of Greeley; son Terry Miller (Trudy) of Greeley; step-sons Dale Sorensen (Karen) of Greeley and Todd Sorensen of Denver; 9 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. She is also survived by nieces and nephews Rhonda Slaughter (Kim) of Spring, Texas, Joe Dodge of Grand Junction and Judy Coffee (Matt) of Denver. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters Fran Hoffa, Bette Shinn, and Ginger Dodge.
Visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
