Maurice Louis Hubbs

Maurice Hubbs of Bellvue, CO, passed away March 7, 2015 at Hospice of Northern Colorado in Greeley. He was born August 1, 1927 to Fred A. and Harriet F. (Kropp) Hubbs in Milliken, CO. He married Shirley F. McCune on February 8, 1946.

Maurice grew up in Hudson, CO, and moved to Platteville where he farmed until 1976 when he retired and moved to the Poudre Canyon area where he lived until his death. Maurice always wanted to live in the mountains since childhood and was able to live there for the last 39 years of his life.

Maurice enjoyed fishing, camping and flying RC airplanes. Maurice will always be remembered for his optimistic outlook on life.

Maurice is survived by his sons, Maurice L. Hubbs, Jr. and David S. Hubbs, of Evans, CO; daughters, Kathy (Wm. “Butch”) Townsend, Newcastle, CO, and Sandra (Charles) Wilmoth, Evans, CO; 2 Grandchildren; four Great-grandchildren; and brother Fred A. (Nancy) Hubbs, Bennett, CO.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; two sisters and a brother.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at the Platteville Mizpah Cemetery.
