Mike grew up in the Kuner and Kersey areas. He worked on the family dairy farm until 1966, when the family moved to Greeley. He graduated from Greeley Central High School in 1969.
After graduation he worked in construction and later worked in the livestock business. He also had helped his father farm at Kanorado, Kansas.
He loved working with cattle and was active in 4-H activities, in his younger years. He also loved llamas and was especially fond of his dogs. Mike enjoyed professional wrestling, football, and reading many types of books, especially science fiction.
He is survived by his mother, Shirley Rein of Kersey; two brothers, Doug Hoff (Peggy) of Greeley and Rich Hoff (Beth) of Oakley, Kansas; two nieces, Amy Hoff and Lindsay Hoff, both of Wichita, Kansas; two nephews, Greg Hoff (Michelle) of Greeley and Shawn Hoff (Justine) of Eaton. Also survived by three great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Donald O. Hoff.
