

Michael D. Johnston, 62, of Greeley passed away February 24, 2017 at TRU Hospice of Northern Colorado. Michael was born to Duane C. and Avis P. (Tormey) Johnston on September 15, 1954 in Greeley, CO. He married Diana K. Judd on December 24, 1975 and lived in Rocksprings, WY.
Michael served in the Army for 3 years spending most of his tour in Germany. He was a studious worker and began working for the railroad, rising up the ranks to Foreman when he retired. He was also a member of Narcotics Anonymous, being heavily involved in the organization.
He was mechanically inclined, always building something and quick with a song or joke. He loved to play the guitar and making up songs. His favorite quote, “How Does a Mouse Eat an Elephant? One bite at a time.” He loved nature, fishing and loved to ride motorcycles and build Hot Rods.
He is survived by his daughter, Mindy Lou (Johnston) Tester; brothers, George (Mary) Johnston, Duane L. (Mary) Johnston; sister, Edith Fisher, Carol Johnston, Sara Johnston and Margret (Carmine) Meola; grandchildren, Anne Jane, Abigail and Audra Lynam, James and Adreanna Johnston.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Jackie Ann Johnston; grandsons, August and Daniel Johnston; and sister, Janie Parker.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Calvary Baptist Church, 102 19th Ave., Greeley, CO. Private Inurnment at Windsor Lakeview Cemetery.
