Michael Alan Slama, 57, of Greeley, Colorado, passed away on Thursday June 12, 2025. Born in Denver Colorado, he was the son of the late Cliff Slama and Joyce Slama. Michael graduated from Fort Morgan High School and from received his propane certificate from Morgan Community College. He met Teena in Fort Morgan and they married in 1991. He was her “sweet bear”, and they were each other’s soul mates, laughing and loving through life together with their beloved kids and grandkids. Whether it was sitting on their front porch in the afternoons, or their Thursday night date night, Michael was a forever romantic who treasured Teena and their bond was unbreakable.
Michael was a master of multiple trades. He worked in the propane industry and was an Account Manager for Multi-Chem. He was passionate about building engines and built his prized Chevy Nova part by part that he raced at Julesberg and Bandimere. Mike was a 2nd degree black belt in TaeKwondo and was also a teacher for many years.
His greatest joys were spending time with his beloved family. He was not just a man with many amazing attributes, Michael filled the role of being the best father figure and the greatest papa anyone could ever ask for. His granddaughters will always cherish him in their hearts. Through his guidance he always told his granddaughters to never give up and always reach for the stars throughout life. They will forever look up to him as a role model. Following in his footsteps, his grandson Cal loved being by his side wearing his favorite Dale Earnhardt car shirt and working with his toolset, whether it was taking apart a generator or his big blue truck. Michael was the most hands-on dad with Tim and they did everything together; whether on a golf trip or rough house wrestling, he instilled a strong work ethic and sense of responsibility and was the ultimate role model.
Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Teena Slama, children, Tim Slama, Sheena Hayes; grandchildren Alana Hayes, Addison Hayes, and Cal Slama; brothers Scott Slama, and Steven Slamaand; and his four legged friend, Rolo. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Jeanette Slama; and Odie, his beloved four legged friend.
