He was born on April 26, 1949 in Greeley, Colorado to Kenneth and Hazel (Foster) Whitmore. Michael was raised in Brighton and after graduating from high school, he enlisted in the Air Force where he rose through the ranks and eventually became chief. He served the country for 30 years as chief in the Air Force. After returning home, Michael worked as a contractor at Arnold Air Force Base in Tennessee; the same base he had been in charge of while enlisted. During his time there, he married the love of his life, Pamela (Oliver). They spent their lives together until her passing in 2016.
In Michael's free time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting; he was an avid outdoorsman. In 2018, he moved back to Colorado to be closer to his family. He will be missed dearly.
Michael is survived by his son, Christopher (Courtney) Whitmore; sister, Laura Whitmore; and many extended family members. He is preceded in death by his wife, Pamela; and his parents, Kenneth and Hazel.
