Milton Jones peacefully passed away June 26, 2025 at his home with family by his side. He was born January 12, 1935 in Kansas to Harold E. Jones and Eleanor May (Schlup) Jones. He enlisted in the Army from 1955-1957. On May 25, 1960 he married the love of his life, Venetta (Renzelman) Jones in Greeley. Milton was a "jack of all trades," from farming, working at Greeley Gas Company, Lundvall Enterprises, Ed Nealy Grain, Hiner Construction, State Highway Department and owner operator of his own truck hauling grain. He was happiest when he was working on something.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Venetta, his daughter, Vonda Young (Gary); brothers, Galen, Quenten (Lucy), Gary (Bobbie); sisters, Janet, Kay, and sister-in-law, Wanda.
Left behind to mourn are his daughter, Vickie Jones and husband Scott Anderson; grandson, Taylor Anderson (Ashley); great grandchildren, Sloan and Logan Anderson; brothers, Allen (Judy), Wallace, Sam, Dave (Barb), Denis (Deena) and sister, Carol (Dean); brothers-in-law Dean Yost and Bob Walker; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Greeley Village for the excellent care in his final days. Also, a special thanks to the Bristol Hospice Care Team.
A visitation for Milton will be held Friday, July 11, 2025 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., with a service to follow at 10:00 a.m., both at Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 West 28th Street, Greeley, CO 80634. A graveside service will immediately follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 3400 W 28th St, Greeley, CO 80634.
