Mimi graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 1977 with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in English and was the senior editor for the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners from 1984-2001. She was a founding member of NOW, the National Organization of Women and was an active participant in the education of her children and more recently that of her grandson Cade, and always raised a strong voice for the children, the voiceless, and the dispossessed.
Mimi was a member of Beth Israel Synagogue and until limited by the ravages of multiple sclerosis enjoyed and participated in seders and services. She saw to the arrangements of a beautiful home and was instrumental in creating a warm, welcoming environment for family, friends, and all who entered.
