Paul was raised and educated in Slaton. He worked as a heavy Equipment Operator for LaFarge, for most of his career and retired from that position. He married Diana Vasquez in Greeley at Our Lady of Peace in September, 1970
Paul enjoyed his work as a heavy equipment operator, but he also enjoyed his retirement. He kept busy working on his house, the garden, the yard and his cars, specially his 1967 mustang. He repeatedly would say how much he enjoyed his life. Paul could fix/repair anything from jewelry, to appliances, cars, and even finishing a full basement.
Paul is survived by his former spouse, Diana Vasquez, two sons, Valentino Vasquez of Eugene, Oregon, and John Vasquez of Greeley, CO; two grandchildren, Samuel and Shoshnna Vasquez of Eugene, Oregon and a daughther-in-law, Robyn Vasquez of Eugene, Oregon. Paul is also survived by his siblings: Sandy Aguilar of Cheyenne, WY, Lupe Aguallo of Scottsbluff Nebraska, Maria Ocanas from Greeley, John Vasquez from Washington State, Danny Vasquez from San Antonio and Pete Vasquez from Alliance Nebraska, Yolanda and Sylvia from Lubbock TX.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents Anselmo and Refugia Vasquez, three brothers, Marcus Vasquez, Valentin Vasquez, and Joe Vasquez, and two sisters, Rosita Vasquez and Connie Guerrero.
