

Ray, a lifelong resident of Greeley, graduated from Greeley Central High School in 1992. He retired in 2014 after working for 20 years at AFCO Steel as a painter and supervisor of the paint and shipping departments.
Ray was a member of Our Lady of Peace and St. Peter’s Catholic Churches. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing, camping, fixing cars, wood working, watching fast pitch softball, soccer and track, storm chasing, and was a lifetime Raiders football fan.
He is survived by his wife Danielle Rodriguez Avila; parents Frank Raymond Avila and Lillian (Grano) Avila; sons Jermaine Avila and Jesus “J.J.” Vigil; daughters CasSandra Avila, Angelique Vigil, Alixzandra Vigil Avila, Qhrystal Avila and ChantinaTay Rodriguez (Shaun) Hererra ; brother Anthony “Tony” Avila; sister Suzanne Avila Cisneros; goddaughters Yesenia Valdez, and Francheska Rodriguez; 7 nieces and 9 nephews; 3 grandchildren; and 20 great nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 5-7:00 P.M. Thursday, August 4, 2016 with a Rosary to follow starting at 7:00 P.M. at the Allnutt Macy Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 A.M. Friday, August 5, 2016 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Interment at Lakeview Cemetery.
